Welches in Peru - Broadcasting Hope in the Andes

We are the Welch family currently living in Perth, Australia. We are missionaries to Peru, serving at the Diospi Suyana facility. This hospital, school, kids club and media centre are located in Curahuasi 2.65km above sea level in the Andes mountains. We are building a TV and radio broadcast network to primarily serve (but not limited to) the Quechua Indians living in abject poverty with life changing hope through education, health and Christian programs. Our Current Support Goals

In April 2019 we returned to Australia for furlough after 3 years living in Peru. But then due to the COVID-19 pandemic, our planned return to Peru in 2020 was not realised. Due to the subsequent 2 years that we could not travel overseas, our plans needed to change for work income and family reasons.

We now base ourselves in Perth, Australia and plan to support Diospi Suyana with short term mission trips. Chris also continues to provide remote technical support which we see as an ongoing commitment.

Support includes not only the initial 6 FM and 1 TV transmission sites, but also 2 subsequent FM transmission sites and now preparation for 4 new FM installations which will see our FM radio coverage reach 2 million people 24 x 7 x 365.

Please note we are no longer utilising our tax deductible Overseas Aid Relief Fund (OARF) through Pioneers.
